EM Presents at Epic XGM: “ASAP14 Increased Compliance via Automated Repeat Lactate Ordering”:

“Brian Sharp, MD, Associate Vice Chair for Quality, and Danielle Babb, MS-HCPM, Operations Manager, presented at Epic’s annual Expert Group Meetings (XGM) conference in Verona, WI. As part of quality improvement initiatives in the department, their presentation, titled “ASAP14 Increased Compliance via Automated Repeat Lactate Ordering” discussed how they increased CMS Sep-1 core measure compliance by creating an order in Epic that automatically includes a repeat lactate order if the initial lactate level is elevated. The presentation was received very well, and Brian and Danielle look forward to presenting next year.”
