YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THE

12th ANNUAL BEAT THE WINTER BLUES BALL

The evening will commence at The Madison Club with mingling, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by a three-course dinner and dessert.  The evening will continue with dancing in the Ballroom.  You will also have the opportunity to utilize your gambling skills at the poker and craps tables.  Don’t forget to stop by the photo booth!

This Roaring 20’s formal affair is sure to be filled with food, music, dancing and interdepartmental House Staff camaraderie to beat the winter blues and be reinvigorated to continue your hard work for and dedication to the citizens of Dane County and surrounding communities. It’s the year’s most anticipated event!

Tickets start at $20.  Valued at approximately $80 per person, the tickets are discounted for you as the result of numerous sponsors listed below. This is your department, local hospitals and local businesses way of saying thank you for tirelessly serving our community. Please purchase tickets by Monday, January 20th.  After that, late registration  will begin and all ticketing will close on Monday, January 23rd at 5pm

Happy Hour & Pumpkin Carving Contest

Join us for happy hour at Blue Moon, and cast your vote in the first annual interdepartmental pumpkin carving contest! Bring your pumpkin, come to cast your vote, or just enjoy appetizers and drinks with friends. UWHA members & significant others will enjoy appetizers and 2 drinks free, $10 for non-members.
Want to compete in the pumpkin carving contest?
  • Send someone from your department to the Appleberry Farm event to get a free pumpkin for your department OR use your own pumpkin
  • Get together with your co-resdients and carve away!
  • Bring your pumpkin to Blue Moon for happy hour (UWHA will provide LED candles to illuminate the pumpkins)
  • Make sure you bring your friends so they can cast their votes!
  • The winning department will receive a $50 gift card to EVP!

Disability Insurance Drop-In Sessions

Stop by to meet with representatives from Shulla Financial Services to learn more about your disability insurance options. They administer your Group Long Term Disability coverage, and will be available on September 21st to discuss the following coverage options:

  • Any Resident/Fellow Physician can acquire $5,000 a month of Individual Disability coverage as a supplement their group Long Term Benefits during training
  • Graduating Physicians have the opportunity to acquire up to $7,500 a month of individual disability coverage prior to leaving the UW Hospital and Clinics.
  • The Guaranteed Standard Issue Program allows Graduating Physicians to acquire up to $4,000 a month of Individual Disability Coverage regardless of your insurability.
  • Individual policies would be personally owned & portable throughout your working career. These options also include significant lifetime discounts & the own occupation definition of disability.

FALL FUN AT APPLEBERRY FARM

Appleberry Farm is a favorite local fall destination with fun for the whole family!

The afternoon will begin at 12:30 pm with brats and cider, then take a hayride, choose to pick apples and/or pumpkins, or simply enjoy the afternoon. (Brats will only be available until 1:30 so be sure to arrive on time!)

UWHA will provide brats, cider and hayrides for UWHA members; $5 for non-members. Apples and Pumpkins are priced by the pound; more detailed pricing information will be available at the venue.

*Get a FREE pumpkin for your department: UWHA be hosting the first annual inter-department pumpkin carving contest in October, so be sure to send someone from your department to this event to pick up a pumpkin- provided by UWHA!*
