UWHA FAQ

Q. How do I become a member of UWHA?
A. You can send an email to mail@uwha.org to request a form by email or by mail.

Q. How much does it cost to be a UWHA member?
A. There is a $3 automatic payroll deduction each pay period.

Q. What do I get as a UWHA member?
A. You become part of an organization that negotiates benefits and policies with hospital administrators, a House Staff Lounge stocked with food every evening, financial support for resident/fellow sports teams, informational seminars on topics such as financial planning and contract negotiations, family events, monthly social events, and the UWHA website.

Q. What benefits do I get from the UWHA website?
A. All UWHA members have access to a referral list with over 200 names of local vendors, house/condo/apartment listings for sale or rent by outgoing residents and fellows, calendar of events, significant other society information, classified ad section, photo gallery, special events and special deals for House Staff, important links, and more.

Q. If I’m not a UWHA member, can I access the website?
A. If you are a resident or fellow or spouse who is not a member of UWHA, you will be able to access the entire website. Keep in mind that most of our social events are either restricted to UWHA members or have a special discount for UWHA members. Non-UWHA members do not have the ability to contribute to the house/condo listings or the classifieds section. If you are not a UWHA member or a resident/fellow, then you can’t contribute to the referral list, the classifieds section, or participate in UWHA social events/informational seminars.

Q. I am not a resident or fellow but am a part of the UW community (nurse, attending, administrator), can I still join?
A. You may request an auxiliary membership payroll deduction form from mail@uwha.org and have all of the rights/benefits of a UWHA member. You may also join as a temporary member for six months ($18) and request that form from mail@uwha.org.

Q. I am not a part of the UW community, can I join UWHA?
A. You can join as a temporary member in six month increments for $18. You will have all the rights and benefits of a UWHA member.

Q. I am not a UWHA member and would like to submit a housing ad on the UWHA website. Can I do that?
A. You can submit a Business Housing Ad, which is $50 for six months. You can request that form from mail@uwha.org.

Q. I am not a UWHA member and would like to submit a classified ad on the UWHA website. Can I do that?
A. You can submit a Classified Ad Form, which is $100 with no expiration date. You can request that form from mail@uwha.org.
